openocd 0.3.1-1 was already released in "testing" by the time you filed the bug report (see http://packages.qa.debian.org/o/openocd.html)...
I believe the patch you are referring to is http://openocd.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=openocd/openocd;a=commitdiff;h=cba1813d5c017e2d20969bb419a856fe15c5ceef Can you please retitle this report to cover the need for that patch, or close it and file a new? I don't know if applying this patch to 0.3.1 is worth the trouble if 0.4.0 is coming soon, unless this bug is more serious than all the other bugs that has been fixed since 0.3.1. I also think it would be great to have the 0.4.0 release candidates in "experimental", since there is so much activity upstream. I am personally running a later snapshot to get my work done.
