Marc, I hope it is sufficient to just specify the +x bit in files shipped by equivs. I know you asked for owner, group, and permissions, but very few Debian packages ship anything other than root:root 644 || 755.
So I'm closing these bugs with the 2.0.8 upload, which lets you have the +x bit when you need it.
