$ sudo /etc/init.d/ferm reload Reloading Firewall configuration......echo 1 >/proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward done. give the important hint: While the pre hook is not written to stdout, the post hook is. This means, the pre hook is written where it belongs, but the post hook isn't. So, this bug is a duplicate of #548579. I will merge them in another mail that does a little bit of bug triaging.
