It turns out update-dlocatedb does not update the dlocate -l
information.
You should mention that on this man page.
One must do
# /etc/cron.daily/dlocate
to update it.

DESCRIPTION
update-dlocatedb generates a plain text package contents listing
dlocate from the files /var/lib/dpkg/info/*.list This program is
usually called from cron.daily.
I think there is a grammar problem around the middle of that sentence.
