the armel issue is a missing #include <cstdio> in
source/COMMON/logStream.C , I dunno why it only showed on armel though
(maybe the standard library include chains are different or something).
the kfreebsd issue seems to be an issue with the code in
source/SYSTEM/sysinfo.C not being compatible with freebsds
sys/sysinfo.h but a combination of my lack of knowlage of the build
system and some issues with my qemu kfreebsd system have meant i've not
been able to prepare a proper patch to disable this on freebsd only.
