We might correct to build-dep for OCaml (and we will certainly need > to make a lintian warning which says that Debhelper 7.1.0 is needed when > using "dh --with ocaml"). I also think this is a sane approach. Like in debhelper-*-versioned-build-depends tags, we could check for feature used in source package and emit a warning when a versioned dependency is missing. In dh_ocaml, we have the following constraints: - when using dh --with quilt, or dh_ocaml{,init,doc}, one needs dh-ocaml (>= 0.9~) and ocaml-nox (>= 3.11.1-3~) - when using the --runtime-map, --no-defined-map, --checksum in a dh_ocaml call, one needs debhelper (>= 7.1.0~) There are those I have in mind right now, but there might be others. Back to the original bugreport, the right way would be to fix the build-dependencies of all packages that use those extra dh_ocaml options (and not really dh-ocaml itself).
