Package: python2.3
Version: 2.3.5-1
Severity: normal

While trying to use the hotshot and hotshot.stats modules (from the main
"python" package) to profile code, hotshot.stats wanted to
 import profile
which failed as I did not have the "python-profiler" package installed.

Installing "python-profiler" solved the problem.

There is no dependency or recommendation of the python-profiler in the
package description.

While I understand the "outsourcing" due to the non-free status, this
introduces problems as the profile module is documented as part of the
Python standard library so looking for it in a different package is not the
first thing to do.

Sincerely

Guenter Milde
