Comments/Problems:

The installer said it installed  grub, but on reboot I got a "Non-system
disk"  error.

Tried to boot to the rescue option with as shell on /dev/sda1 and rejig
grub but so far no good. When I  run mount, I notice this:

    tmpfs on /dev type tmpfs  (rw, relatime, mode=755)

which seems a little weird.

System still not booting properly.
