Package: aptitude Version: 0.4.11.11-1+b2 Severity: normal I'm experiencing the same problem on squeeze sparc64.
Aptitude always segfaults everytime I quit, with one exception: if I open it and close it without updating (or doing anything else) it exits just fine. I also experience a segfault when it finishes downloading a package to install. In this case aptitude exits when the progress bar at the bottom reaches 100%. However, it doesn't happen all the time. I installed aptitude debug symbols but the gdb backtrace stops with an error: (gdb) #0 0xf78d7a60 in ?? () from /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 #1 0xf78d8278 in ??
