Brilliant observation! The failure is due to my use of netcat. Turning to a standard telnet client the expected functionality is restored. I regret the noise! Please kill this bug entry. Some gossip to make up for my silly mistake: At this very moment I am for the first time running a functional ser2net-2.7 service, which is privately patched for IPv6.
