Has anyone actually explained the situation to the ftp-masters and asked for an opinion/exemption? It seems that moonlight in Debian is being given up on rather easily. Either an effort should be made to package moonlight 2 and ship it with the next release, or else the ftp-masters reject it and should then be asked to remove moonlight from the archive rather than be forced to support increasingly ancient software. The ftp-masters can then explain to our users why moonlight just isn't good enough for Debian...
