Package: xarchiver Version: 1:0.5.2+20090319+dfsg-4 Severity: normal Hi, when trying to open tar files which are not in UStar format, xarchiver fails with following error message: Archive format is not recognized!
actually, file is recognized as "tar file" by file. Also, if I recompile xarchiver and, for testing purpose, return unconditionally true in isTar function (src/tar.c), xarchiver opens archive correctly. I discovered this bug with an archive from uget software source. To reproduce: wget http://freefr.dl.sourceforge.net/project/urlget/Uget%20%28stable%29/1.5.0.2/uget-1.5.0.2.tar.gz gunzip uget-1.5.0.2.tar.gz xarchiver uget-1.5.0.2.tar I copied archive here in case it disappears from given link: http://renevier.net/misc/uget-1.5.0.2.tar -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages xarchiver depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 1.28.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.8.10-2 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.11-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.22.4-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.18.7-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libpango1.0-0 1.26.2-1 Layout and rendering of internatio Versions of packages xarchiver recommends: ii arj 3.10.22-8 archiver for .arj files ii bzip2 1.0.5-4 high-quality block-sorting file co ii p7zip-full 9.04~dfsg.1-1 7z and 7za file archivers with hig ii rpm 4.7.2-1+b2 package manager for RPM ii unzip 6.0-4 De-archiver for .zip files ii xdg-utils 1.0.2+cvs20100307-1 desktop integration utilities from ii zip 3.0-3 Archiver for .zip files Versions of packages xarchiver suggests: pn lha <none> (no description available) pn rar <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
