Hi Harald Sometime I should write an FAQ before someone file a bug against this. :-) No it do not _depend_ on the fonts packages. It _recommends_ them. The reason is that you can configure vnc to use a font server and then you do not need this. If you want to be sure that you would get it to work without any hassle, please install also the recommended packages.
