Why is this wait needed? I would have thought dependencies like Depends: ruby1.8 (>= 1.8.7.249-3) | irb1.8 (>= 1.4.3) should be safe already. FWIW, "apt-cache showpkg irb1.8" does not reveal any other package than libgettext-ruby1.8 with a versioned dependency on irb1.8. Nothing in unstable/main build-depends on it, either.
