thanks for your report. Unfortunately this bug is caused by a little error in 
maintainer files and should have been catched by testing and didn't.

The next upload of squid3, due in the next few minutes, will fix this bug but 
will not get your squid.conf back.

Please consider using a stable version or testing for your production sites. :-)
