You are pasing your column inside each column starting at each cell in the selected row. This might exhaust the available memory. So this is not a bug, just your computer memory is not large enough for what you are doing. You might just select the first cell in the row, and use Edit/Paste special, selecting Transpose, if you want to copy your columnar data into a row.
