  Please, do *not* use dlocate to locate files. I've several computers
(HPC cluster) where the dlocate database has been disabled (so there is
a database but it is totally outdated). Use documented dpkg interfaces
if you have to ask for some information. And do not remove any dangling
symlinks you do not own/create.
  Perhaps, you will have to create a (long) whitelist of symlinks to
remove due to old buggy packages, but starting to remove random danglink
symlinks seems very wrong to me.
  Note that I only read your comments on this bug: I do not experiment
problems myself for now nor I look at your source code to check what is
done exactly. But what I read in your comments make me feel not
comfortable with the implementation of python-central.
