Package: nscd Version: 2.10.2-6 Severity: normal According to Policy 9.3.2:
/etc/init.d/package [...] should accept one argument, saying what to do: [...] reload cause the configuration of the service to be reloaded WITHOUT ACTUALLY STOPPING AND RESTARTING THE SERVICE, (emphasis mine) However, the nscd script will stop and restart nscd when called with reload. If nscd doesn't support reloading without being restarted, then the "reload" action should be removed from the init script. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_GB.UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages nscd depends on: ii libc6 2.10.2-6 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib nscd recommends no packages. nscd suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
