Package: git-buildpackage
Severity: normal

Dear Debian developers,

I am testing the Zeitgeist Git commit hook in the upstream branch. (Therefore
no version set.) I hope it is correct to report the following issue in the BTS.

I created a directory with an umlaut »ä« in it and got the following error
message.

    Traceback (most recent call last):
      File ".git/hooks/post-commit", line 95, in <module>
        main(sys.argv)
      File ".git/hooks/post-commit", line 73, in main
        uri = u"file://%s" % curdir
    UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 31:
ordinal not in range(128)

Thanks,

Paul
