Well. That was tested under wine (using Z:\usr\share\win32\cpio.exe instead of the above cpio.exe). So that's pure Debian free software. :->> I just tried with the amd64 cpio, to be sure : -rw-r--r-- 1 didier didier 1024 28 avr 14:54 cpio_2.9-15.chunk -rw-r--r-- 1 didier didier 1024 28 avr 14:56 cpio_2.9.90-2.chunk There is no difference in size (which is equal to the -win32 before 2.9.90-2 ) and both produce valid initrd.gz.
