The issue for OpenTTD has been solved in upstream 1.2.5.
Given the release message from upstream (fixed bug in gzseek and gzeof) and the initial report it might have fixed wireshark as well ("reads data from the middle of the file" sounds like "uses gzseek"), but I have not tested that.
