Hello Ben, I have still been experiencing the memory allocation failures when under heavy I/O. It happens especially when I run dd in the following format: dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/foo.img bs=1440k count=10000 in a loop. With this new kernel, now, it does not trigger OOM but the memory allocation failure in the driver is still seen. I suspend the problem to be related to these bugzillas. https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14830 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15690 You make the call if this bug should remain closed or if should be reopened.
