The first thing the user want to do is Config, so he hits C, only to end up connecting. OK, then he hits "-". OK, then he realizes that maybe "->" already means he is on the configuration page, perhaps. I would recommend http://www.useit.com/alertbox/ if this was a web page, but all I can say is some testing is needed to make sure users are not confused.
