Possibly -- would you be interested in extracting them and sending them upstream [1]? They are usually very responsive, and I monitor the list and can pull from there when they make it in. I don't like carrying patches not reviewed by upstream, because with this sort of code it is way too easy to make mistakes and break the semantics.
