I can make dh_installman support .so links without a path, and have, but of course it can only assume the man page is located in the same section. If an actual path-style search will be done, debhelper can't handle that, and I guess would have to leave the .so links alone in that case. (Should dh_installman stop converting so links to symlinks at all? I think lintian warns about some so links.) -- see shy jo
