Package: k3b
Version: 0.12.1-2
Severity: important

Given this pure-hardware annoyance:

Apparently one of my CDRW drives doesn't like one of my CDRW disks, the
drive can't erase a certain disk for some reason. That is, begin with
the assumption that there is a definite glitch on my system, either a
funny disk or burner, or that they're somehow incompatible. (Though
both the disk and burner work fine with other disks and burners.)

'k3b' wrongly handles the problem this way:

At burn-time 'k3b' shows a pop-up window.

        [ Found Rewritable Disk - K3b (X)]
           {i} Found rewritable media in ATAPI - CD-RW 52X24
               Should it be erased?

                [ Yes ] [ No ]

...if I click "Yes", 'k3b' tries to erase the disk, and of course fails.
Then it shows that same "Found Rewritable Disk - K3b" pop-up again.

...if I click "No", another window shows up, "Waiting for Disk
-K3b", but as soon as it does the "Found Rewritable Disk - K3b" window
pops up over it, and is the only active 'k3b' window -- clicking on
anything below it has no effect.

So there's only two choices and both have the same effect, an endless
loop of the "Found Rewritable Disk - K3b" pop-up.

It seems like there's no way to get out of this loop without killing
'k3b'. If the user had just set up a tricky project, and then tries to
burn it but didn't save it first, and gets this bug, the project might
not be saved, losing information.

It would be better if 'k3b' caused no inescapable infinite loops, bad
or buggy hardware or not.

Hope this helps...
