do you still know which cryptsetup version was used to set up your environment?
The partitions were encrypted several years ago. The oldest key file is from November 2007.
and do you use a keyscript like passdev? in this case i guess that you set up the system with a version of cryptsetup which had a regression and thus behaved other than expected with --key-file=- given as argument.
I am just running /etc/init.d/cryptdisks [start|stop|restart].
please provide your exact /etc/crypttab and custom keyscripts if any. additionally some history would be useful. how did you set up the system, which command-line options where given to luksFormat, etc.
/etc/crypttab contains lines like # <target name> <source device> <key file> <options> datax /dev/disk/by-uuid/53ad4bb4-941d-44f7-b370-e19efc77c58a /usb/etc/53ad4bb4-941d-44f7-b370-e19efc77c58a luks I haven't introduced any custom keyscripts.
