Installing the sarge version of gnome-media should fix the immediate problem for you. This bug qualifies as a "serious" bug wrt sarge, but not wrt etch, since partial upgrades from woody to etch are not supported; it would still be appropriate to get it fixed in sarge, IMHO, if the stable RM accepts such a fix, but it should not be allowed to block additional package updates from unstable to testing, so I'm downgrading the bug to "important" since I don't believe there's any other way to fully express this constraint in the BTS.
