The 'gap' with the black screen and blinking cursor in the top left
corner comes due to the fact that we need to compile plymouths without
the gdm transitioning support, since debians gdm{,3} in sid is too old
for that.regarding the other thing with the init script: thanks a lot for finding out, i've tested it successfully several times on my ideapad, next upload in a few minutes will fix this.
