Package: system-config-lvm Version: 1.1.4-2 Severity: important I managed to export / import a lvm volume in an ubuntu live cd - so that I could use it. However, when I tried to reboot I could see the boot messages inform me that the lvm was opened but not able to be activated (I use luks and lvm). I rebooted using a debian installation cd, where the same occurred. The I ran vgimport after receiving some help on irc. This enabled my to open my lvm logical volumes. I tried to use this program - system-config-lvm before I was told to run vgimport on irc. System-config-lvm was able to see the physical lvm volume exported, but it froze when I attempted to view information about the allocated volumes (of the lvm volume in particular).
Summary: system-config-lvm does not inform the user that an lvm volume is exported and it must first be imported before use. Expected behaviour: user is told that the respective lvm volume should be imported. Actual behaviour: the program freezes and continues to use cpu. -- System Information: Debian Release: 5.0.5 APT prefers stable APT policy: (900, 'stable'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.34 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
