I second the RFP.  [1]

I have also found that some at fist glance decent debian packages have been
produced already by David Ham and Stephan Kramer [2]. Their debian/copyright
file looks OK to use this as a basis for an official debian package.

I would be willing to co-maintain, I am not a debian developer though.
