Package: aptitude Version: 0.6.3-2 Severity: wishlist When one uses the APT::Default-Release feature, to get selected access to stuff from eg. unstable, aptitude's "new packages" list is not as useful as it could be. One could not want to take the risk of installing a brand-new package before it hits testing. In this case, it would be valuable to have a second list, of "packages new in testing".
When the package scoring is only modified by APT::Default-Release, that parameter could be used to generate the new list. However, I'm not sure which criteria to use when a complicated apt/preferences setup is in use. Maybe a "new" list for each source could be generated, when a package newly appears in that list, but was previously in another one ? A more generic idea stemming from this issue, would be to allow the user to configure arbitrary package groupings alongside Installed/Upgradable/New, with custom filtering expressions that would have the power of expressing the above-mentionned needs. -- Yann Dirson - Bertin Technologies -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
