salome_study.generateName() and batchmode_salome.generateName() functions use the whrandom module, which was been removed in Python 2.5.Thank you for the report. Just curious, do you have some time to put together a quick draft patch, which I can add to the package git repository for testing purposes?
Just replace "whrandom" with "random" and it should work. :) -- Jakub Wilk
