Since upgrading to the latest version 2.4.0, font rendering in various
places is broken. I namely noticed this in Liferea and the OSD of
mplayer. See comparison screenshots of the former here:

As you can see, downgrading to 2.3.11 reverted the issue but I don’t
feel comfortable undoing security fixes thus I’d like to see this
resolved soon.
