Subject: pm-utils: Does not resume from hibernate, just restarts Package: pm-utils Version: 1.3.0-2 Severity: normal
System is an HP Pavilion dm3 Notebook PC, video is nVidia G98M (GeForce G105M), kernel is 2.6.32-5-amd64. After executing "pm-hibernate" my usual GNOME session is replaced by a blank screen with a blinking cursor for a while, and then the PC powers off. When I power it on again, instead of resuming from hibernation I'm greeted with the usual power-on screen (and fsck complains about my FSs not being cleanly unmounted, etc). I could only find a log for "pm-suspend" in /var/log, not "pm-hibernate". Let me know how to go about diagnosing the problem (I'm not averse to recompiling the kernel with debugging config if necessary). — Jason -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pm-utils depends on: ii console-tools 1:0.2.3dbs-69 Linux console and font utilities ii kbd-compat [kbd] 1:0.2.3dbs-69 Wrappers around console-tools for ii powermgmt-base 1.31 Common utils and configs for power Versions of packages pm-utils recommends: ii procps 1:3.2.8-9 /proc file system utilities ii radeontool 1.6.1-1 utility to control ATI Radeon back ii vbetool 1.1-2 run real-mode video BIOS code to a Versions of packages pm-utils suggests: ii cpufrequtils 007-1 utilities to deal with the cpufreq pn uswsusp <none> (no description available) -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
