Hi,

As it turns out, I noticed this because I was making a minor patch to
add a "Not Paused" entry in the main transmission gtk+ window Show:

debian/rules to use the new dh stuff along with other minor debian/*
modernization. I checked that the generated .debs have the same files
as with the old debian/rules& co, and they do.

Thanks! I've been putting this off because I was planning a possible double-build to enable libcanberra/libgconf and create a transmission-gnome package, but now I can't avoid it! :)

Patch below, against 2.03-1. This contains my "not paused" show: menu
entry as a quilt patch, along with the shortened debian/rules and
associated tweaks.

Unfortunatelly since we're now frozen[0] I may have to keep your patch out depending on the amount of changes. I'll get in touch with the release team and see how much change they can reasonably accept. In the worst-case scenario the new version might not be included in squeeze.

  git clone git://git.debian.org/~bap/transmission.git

That's very helpful. I've been also meaning to migrate off of SVN in the maintainer-repository. Might take the opportunity to finally take the plunge! :)

Cheers
