Package: boxbackup-client
Version: 0.11~rc3~r2502-2.1

Actually, I see the bug under ubuntu (9.10, 10.04), and have reported it at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/boxbackup/+bug/496334 .

It has been sitting unanswered since december, however, and it would seem that it's the debian package unaltered, so I hope to get some response here.

From /var/log/daemon.log :

Dec 13 23:40:32 jekaterina bbackupd[25755]: NOTICE: Box Backup Client v0.11rc2+2502, (c) Ben Summers and contributors 2003-2008 Dec 13 23:40:32 jekaterina bbackupd[25757]: NOTICE: Starting daemon, version: 0.11rc2+2502 Dec 13 23:40:32 jekaterina bbackupd[25757]: NOTICE: Using configuration file: /etc/boxbackup/bbackupd.conf Dec 13 23:40:32 jekaterina bbackupd[25757]: NOTICE: Beginning scan of local files Dec 13 23:40:32 jekaterina bbackupd[25757]: WARNING: Failed to access file: /home/sune/.gvfs: Permission denied

Also note that I actually have an ExcludeDir clause against ~/.gvfs, so I suppose the bug is caused by the fact that it's fuse-mounted, apparently precluding it from even being listed for later matching against the clause...

http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.sysutils.backup.boxbackup.general/5252 says it should be fixed upstream, which is now at rc5...

This is especially irritating, since boxbackupd also complains via mail...

Best regards,

Sune Mølgaard
