hi, I have the same problem after upgrade from lenny to squeeze, I got this message in syslog :
Aug 20 08:46:19 intranet named[3988]: the working directory is not writable Just run to fix the problem because the directory is owned by default by root /var/cache# ls -al drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Mar 17 19:08 bind chown bind:bind /var/cache/bind Regards,
