Package: lists.debian.org Severity: normal The current limits to messages' size on Debian lists (TTBOMK around 60kB) prevents using the lists for review of localization work. Particularly, very large translation files can't be sent as attachments for review as this is done for smaller work.
Coulmd it be possible to consider raising this limit for lists where it is well known that they're well monitored and used. ATM, I'd like to propose raising it in: - debian-i18n: where calls for new translations are sent (so, sometimes very big POT files) - debian-l10n-french: highly controlled list where I can personnally guarantee that no abuse will me made Of course, users will still be instructed to reduce the size of their mails as much as possible (using bzip2, etc). I would like to propose 300kB as a new limit. That should make us able to cope with nearly all translation files as of now ("it ought to be enough for...": you know the drill....). -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
