Package: src:swt-gtk Version: 3.5.1-2.1 Severity: normal Hello,
I have prepared a package for SWT 3.6 (based on the package for SWT 3.5.1), the problem I faced when installing libswt-gtk-3.6-java while I already had libswt-gtk-3.5-java installed, is that both packages provide /usr/share/java/swt.jar, so I get a conflict error on installation. Hence, I think the proper course of action is that SWT 3.5.1 package should actually change the way that it provides /usr/share/java/swt.jar, that instead of just being a symlink, it would be provided by an alternatives system (ie. using update-alternatives), so that when the user installs SWT 3.6 package (when it gets into Debian), he won't get into problems. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers lucid-updates APT policy: (500, 'lucid-updates'), (500, 'lucid-security'), (500, 'lucid-proposed'), (500, 'lucid-backports'), (500, 'lucid') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
