Too late to hope this problem will not be discovered. There are many 'unofficial' repos out there, that up to now have been working fine, but now stall updating Squeeze.
And many of us use synaptic or similar, and have no idea why a whole bunch of Translation files can not be downloaded. Even running apt-get shows only a Translation file hangs, but not from which server. I think we need to advertise the fix, maybe on the debian main page? Ferry
