Strangely enough, it does work fine for me, using the same kernel, even:
spider:~$ traceroute6 -vn www.kame.net
traceroute to www.kame.net (2001:200:0:8002:203:47ff:fea5:3085) from 
2002:121a:12:1e1c:2a0:ccff:fe57:a34e, 30 hops max, 16 byte packets
 1  2002:121a:12:1e1c::3  0.416 ms  0.243 ms  0.214 ms
 2  2002:801e:1::801e:1  0.4 ms !N  0.277 ms !N  0.29 ms !N

I suspect a local problem of some sort.  If you traceroute6 to a
specific numeric IPv6 address do things behave any better?
