According to the package search page, no package owns /etc/modules. I know that if you load a module during the install process (using the Debian installer) it will remember the modules you loaded and list them in /etc/modules for you. Beyond that, I don't think that there is a good way to automate that. For example, in my case, I have the speedstep-lib support statically compiled into my kernel. Others also have different requirements. Given the number of different possible scenarios, I still think documenting the situation is the best approach. -Roberto -- Roberto C.
