This is *very* odd. It works properly here...

Could you attach the contents of ~/.gxine/config to this bug report? Also,
the output from
  ls -l ~/.gxine
may be useful.

Well, yes. This is expected if by "[close]" you mean the close button in the
window frame, although I would expect this to work regardless.

Something about this suggests that clicking on "[close]" is killing the
application rather than telling it that the window has been closed. If this
is what's happening, then the cause is a problem in your desktop environment
- consider reconfiguring it.

If quitting gxine (by pressing Ctrl-Q or using the Quit option in the File
menu) then restarting it still causes the setup dialogue box to be shown then
you have, er, some other problem which you may have to work out for yourself.
