Package: dh-make
Version: 0.55
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

Taking "dh_make -c bsd" as an example, the generated debian/copyright will have:

=====
The Debian packaging is:

    Copyright (C) #YEAR# #USERNAME# <#EMAIL#>

# Please chose a license for your packaging work. If the program you package
# uses a mainstream license, using the same license is the safest choice.
# Please avoid to pick license terms that are more restrictive than the
# packaged work, as it may make Debian's contributions unacceptable upstream.
# If you just want it to be GPL version 3, leave the following lines in.

and is licensed under the GPL version 3,
see "/usr/share/common-licenses/GPL-3".
=====

All the templates have the Debian packaging license as GPL-3.
Since it's already encouraged to use the same license of upstream, wouldn't
it be better to have the packaging license the same as the one selected by
the user? (the same one of the template)

For example, selecting "-c bsd", the Debian packaging license part will also
default to BSD (and the same for the other licenses), instead GPL-3.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Nelson
