Hi,
with the upgrading of udevd, most of the applications that spindown a disk
show problems. It seems that the problems are related to those applications
device opening policy. These problems are discussed in bugs
#526516 (hdparm) and #540350 (scsitools). At the end the problem was
detected and
these aplications modified and upgraded.
sdparm has exactly the same problem. It has been solved upstream by
adding the flag
--readonly. Then it is important to upgrade to the new upstream version!!!
