I am using Bluetile. It also crashes under Sawfish. I asked some other people - A colleague running 2.7.3 (Fedora 12) says the problem does not appear there. Another colleague running Pidgin 2.7.3-1 (Squeeze) confirms it happens on his system, when the message is received under the SILC protocol (it appears to be split into more than one message on other protocols).
