now that we have solved #584666 (thank you!), a colleague of mine reported a similar issue: Remote controlling Debian via Windows, single AltGr combinations work fine, but together with Ctrl, the correct key combinations don't get through to the applications. E.g., in Vim, we have the combination ^] which is reachable on the German keyboard via Ctrl+AltGr+9. I'm attaching the xev output from native Debian (xev.linux) and Debian controlled via Windows XP RDP/xrdp (xev.winxp).
