Hi Moritz (cc the "New Upstream Version" bugreport),

[I dare post this in public - hope you are fine with that]

Hi Jonas,
did you see this, you'll need to poke FTP masters to get ghostscript

Good point.

Yes, I am aware of that. I didn't buy them chocolate, but posted the attached email - so far without any response from them.

If you (or anyone else following this) have time and ideas for additional moves to help this process, I would appreciate help.

My plan is this:

1) Package new upstream release [done]
2) Release for experimental [done - pending ftpmaster approval]
3a) Verify that it builds properly on all archs
3b) Suggest bugreporters to test that new packaging [partly done]
4) Release for unstable
5) Request approval from Release Managers

Help is much appreciated with 3b. See http://bugs.debian.org/583738#78 for info on the backports I have made available for eventual testers.

Help spreading the word of the need for testing and analysis of what actually is solved with the new release (both already filed bugs and things not registered at the Debian bts) is highly appreciated.

Kind regards,

 - Jonas
