the CMS utility succeeds the smime utility. It is needed to decrypt messages from Outlook 2010 because Microsoft sents encrypted messages by default using the CMS format, you will be unable to decrypt messages on debian from outlook. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2142236 Can you please build the default package for the upcoming release with ./config enable-cms It would be a shame to miss out this important feature and do custom openssl builds without security patches.
